1. Who We Are

SmartLogoz ("we," "us," or "our") is a business identity and community discovery platform operated by SmartLogoz, LLC. Our platform — accessible at smartlogoz.com — lets community-owned businesses register a verified logo identity and be discoverable via OurBloc (ourbloc.app).

2. Information We Collect

2a. Information you provide directly

Business registration data: Legal business name, EIN (Employer Identification Number), business email, password (hashed), phone number, physical address, city, state, ZIP code.
Business profile data: Tagline, description, founder story, keywords, services, payment methods, languages spoken, social media profile URLs, online shop URLs.
Community attributes: Ownership identity designations (e.g., Black-owned, woman-owned, veteran-owned) — only what you select and authorize.
Logo files: The logo image you upload for badge generation.
Communications: Emails or messages you send to our support team.

2b. Information collected automatically

Log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, time and date of access.
Cookies and local storage: Session tokens, consent preferences, and cached business data. See our Cookie Policy for details.
Location data: If you use address autocomplete, we pass your address to Google Maps to resolve coordinates. We store your business latitude/longitude for map display.

2c. Information from third parties

Social platform data: If you provide social profile URLs, we may retrieve publicly available ratings and review counts (e.g., Yelp star rating, Google review count) to display on your OurBloc listing.
Payment data: Processed entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers, CVVs, or full payment account details. We receive confirmation of payment status and a Stripe customer/subscription ID.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your business profile and verified SmartLogo badge.
To display your business in OurBloc search results (subject to your discoverability settings).
To process subscription payments via Stripe.
To send transactional emails (registration confirmation, payment receipts, account alerts).
To verify EIN legitimacy and detect fraudulent registrations.
To improve platform functionality, analyze usage patterns, and fix bugs.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as follows:

Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy governs their handling of payment data.
Google: Maps API (address resolution, map display), reCAPTCHA (bot prevention). Google's privacy policy applies to their services.
OurBloc discovery platform: Your public business profile (name, logo, tagline, category, community attributes, location) is displayed to OurBloc users according to your visibility and discoverability settings.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction.

5. Data Retention

We retain your business data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, your profile is deactivated but data is retained for 90 days to allow reactivation. After 90 days of cancellation, personal data is deleted or anonymized, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records, which are retained for 7 years).

Logo files are retained until you request deletion or your account is fully purged.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten").
Portability: Request your data in a machine-readable format.
Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential cookies via our cookie banner.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Data is transmitted over HTTPS. API keys and secrets are stored as environment variables, never in source code. We conduct periodic security reviews. No system is 100% secure — if you suspect a breach, contact us immediately.

8. Children's Privacy

SmartLogoz is a business platform and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that a child under 13 has registered, we will delete that account promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered account holders at least 14 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
